Modum combines IoT (Internet of Things) sensors with blockchain technology and offers data integrity for transactions with physical products. Modum offers a passive monitoring solution to streamline supply chain processes in many sectors.
Modum was founded in 2016. Thanks to a partnership with the Communication Systems Group of the University of Zurich, a small team of engineers was put together to participate in the 2016 Kickstart Accelerator. After winning the Future Emerging Technology Vertical, the company was established as an AG in Switzerland and started to carry out pilot projects in Europe up to the Middle East.
The Modum system has been designed with a clear focus on automation and security. It consists of multiple hardware and software components. • A temperature logger qualified by the pharma, which monitors the temperature during transport. It communicates wirelessly with a mobile application via BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) or NFC (Near Field Communication). • The back is for retrieving data, evaluation, verification and storage.
The MOD token was sold in September 2017 during the successful ICO of Modum, with a revenue of more than 13 million USD.
