About SONM

Established in mid-2017, SONM held its initial coin offering starting June 15 until July 15 that year. The SONM team prepared 444 million tokens and sold around 360 million of these. SONM’s founders are Aleksei Antonov, a Computer Security degree holder who specializes in digital assets blockchain technologies, and Bitcoin; and Sergei Ponomarev, whose expertise is in Solidity programming, JavaScript, and smart-contract development. Ponomarev was only 22 when he partnered with Antonov in creating the project. The platform’s mission is divided into five areas: to build a decentralized open-source, autonomous, and free-from-owners marketplace for computing power; provide businesses and individuals with decentralized computing resources; help individual hardware owners to rent out and profit from computing resources; provide an alternative to cloud computing; and serve as a platform for applications of the future.
