BarnBridge (BOND)

BarnBridge was founded in 2020 by Troy Murray, Milad Mostavi, Tyler Ward, and Dragos Rizescu to address the issue of uncertainty in DeFi. BarnBridge provides solutions to the so-called "risk diversification" problem, where users often have to choose between platforms with low risk and low returns or platforms with high risk and high returns. By addressing this problem, BarnBridge aims to be an attractive option for both conservative and more risk-tolerant investors. BarnBridge's main product is "SMART Yield," a protocol that splits the yields from DeFi loans (such as those from lending platforms) into two different tokens: the so-called "Yield" and "Risk" tokens. Yield tokens generally have a more stable value and offer lower but safer interest rates, while Risk tokens have higher potential returns but also a higher risk of loss. These two tokens allow users to manage their exposure to different risks and adjust their return expectations based on their own risk tolerance. This way, users can choose to allocate a portion of their funds to a low risk/low return scenario and another portion to a high risk/high return scenario. BarnBridge's protocol is secured through the BOND token, an ERC20 token that can be staked and managed through automated and decentralized governance via the BarnBridge DAO.
