Beta Finance is a permissionless money market, which means that people can provide and borrow loans within this protocol without the need for permission from an intermediary.
MoreThe idea is that anyone can create a market for a crypto asset at any time. The protocol consists of borrowers, lenders, traders, and liquidators, and operates with an isolated collateral model, which means that tokens cannot be easily liquidated.

Beta Finance was launched by Allen Lee, who graduated from MIT and worked as a software engineer at Microsoft and Facebook. Beta's mission is to counter the volatility in DeFi by developing critical infrastructure and tools to facilitate market efficiency. Users can utilize the platform's "1-Click Short" tool, where with just one click, they can select the DEX to swap through and stake the newly acquired collateral with the borrowed amount in the short position. Beta Finance follows an isolated collateral model to support more volatile assets, meaning that a collateral position at risk of liquidation does not pose a danger to another position. BETA is the native utility token and serves the following functions: for staking, allowing token holders to receive a portion of the generated yield; for liquidity mining, enabling users to lock their tokens in the lending pools; and as a governance feature, enabling token holders to participate in voting and decision-making for the protocol.
