Blockchain game company
Immutable (IMX) has partnered with AAA game studio Ubisoft to collaborate on the development of Web3 games. This development of Web3 games will take place through Ubisoft's Strategic Innovation Lab. The companies will combine their expertise to intertwine the development quality of gaming with Web3 functionalities.
The partnership comes as a result of previous successful demonstrations by Immutable, including Guild of Guardians, Metalcore, Shardbound, and Infinite Victory. With these various titles, Immutable offers gamers different genres to explore that incorporate Web3 aspects such as in-game assets. Immutable's gaming platform provides infrastructure for gaming studios to build games that can run on the
Ethereum blockchain.
Immutable also launches Zero Knowledge Rollup
Immutable has also recently launched a test network of its zero-knowledge rollup (ZK-rollups) zkEVM, which serves as a gaming solution. This ZK-rollup is a significant Layer 2 scaling technology of Ethereum that enables high throughput and low-cost transactions for DeFi applications, services, and solutions.
Immutable has rolled out two different ZK-based scaling solutions. One of them is the aforementioned zkEVM rollup, which operates on the Ethereum-based Layer 2 solution
Polygon (MATIC). The other rollup solution by Immutable has been developed by the major software company StarkWare.
Web3 games are gradually making their way into the mainstream gaming world. This is not only beneficial for the adoption of crypto but also for the adoption of Web3.
