The blockchain can validate a large number of transactions because it processes transactions in parallel. Developers can program smart contracts themselves using the Move programming language. Move is a language that can be used efficiently, securely and quickly. This makes it possible to develop and use decentralized applications (dApps) on Aptos. This makes Aptos a competitor to Ethereum, Solana, Cardano and Avalanche, among others, but of course also to scalability solutions such as Optimism and Polygon. Within Aptos' network, validators handle transaction processing and creation of new blocks. A reputation system is used for the validators who are active. You can also stake APT coins yourself. You do that by setting up a validator yourself or by delegating your APT to another validator. The APT cryptocurrency is the fuel of Aptos.
