How does Avalanche work?

Avalanche makes development processes and conversions simpler and more efficient through the use of three blockchain strategies: X-Chain or the Exchange Chain, P-Chain or the Platform Chain, and C-Chain or the Contract Chain. Users create new digital assets on the X-Chain while they build subnets and coordinate validators through the P-Chain, and C-Chain is for the implementation of the EVM or Ethereum Virtual Machine.

About Avalanche

Avalanche was established by Ava Labs, specifically by three individuals with extensive background and experience in finance and technology. The most prominent among them is Emin Gun Sirer, who used to be a Computer Science professor at Cornell University. He also did research work on distributed systems, networking, and operating systems. Sirer is an Initiative for Cryptocurrencies and Smart Contracts or IC3 co-director. Sirer is joined by John Wu, a fintech executive backed by more than 20 years of experience. He is a technology investor in different companies, including the Blackstone Group-backed Sureview Capital, Kingdom Capital, and Tiger Management. The company’s current CPA is Maofan Ted Yin, whose passion lies in building and designing practical distributed systems that help improve peer-to-peer systems, inefficiencies in the consensus, and fault-tolerance. Kevin Sekniqi is Avalanche’s COO. He used to work with NASA JPL and Microsoft, focusing on software engineering and research.
