About Gitcoin

Gitcoin was founded by Kevin Owocki and Scott Moore. Owocki serves as the CEO of the project, while Moore is the technical growth lead and head of research. The goal of Gitcoin is to support and develop open-source projects. Gitcoin collaborates with various blockchain projects, developer communities, and companies for this purpose. Money is raised for projects through the so-called Gitcoin Grants, where people can donate if they wish to support them. There are already more than 160,000 monthly active developers and just over 1,600 projects established on the platform. Gitcoin also has a bounty program where developers can earn rewards by solving specific tasks or issues in open-source projects. This encourages users to actively participate in open source and help solve problems and improve projects. Regular competitions with prize money are also held to encourage developers to explore new ideas and projects. This system runs on the Gitcoin token (GTC). As a governance token, you can use it to participate in votes and decisions within the protocol. It also provides financial support to the protocol's DAO.
