LayerZero (ZRO)

LayerZero (ZRO) was created by Bryan Pellegrino and Ryan Zarick to address the fragmented nature of the blockchain landscape. By fostering interoperability, enhancing scalability, and improving the user experience, LayerZero aims to unlock the full potential of Web3 and create a more integrated and functional decentralized future. With its unique approach to achieving true interoperability and its customizable design, LayerZero sets a new standard in the blockchain ecosystem. By providing a streamlined process for interacting with multiple blockchains, LayerZero simplifies complex cross-chain interactions and fosters a more interconnected and functional decentralized web. Besides oracles, LayerZero also employs Ultra-Light Nodes (ULNs) instead of full nodes for each blockchain, reducing the data required to validate cross-chain transactions and making the process more efficient and less resource-heavy. Additionally, LayerZero's Stargate feature enables the transfer of not only tokenized assets but also their underlying state, allowing associated data to be transferred between blockchains. Within the network, the native token ZRO is used. With the ZRO token users can pay for transactions within the system and use it as governance to vote for decisions within the protocol.
