Last weekend, Coinmerce partnered with Ajax to launch a unique campaign. For this special event, we developed a game where players had to catch as many coins as possible to quickly reach 250 points. The game was available from Friday, 13 December, until Sunday, 15 December, 6:30 PM, coinciding with the end of the AFC Ajax vs. Almere City match.

Thousands of Players

The campaign was widely promoted on social media channels, via newsletters, and even during Sunday afternoon's match. A QR code was displayed on the stadium's big screen, allowing spectators to access the game. Over the course of the weekend, thousands of people attempted to be the fastest to score 250 points, with many players making multiple attempts. Of course, there could only be one winner.

€10,000 in Bitcoin

The record could only be achieved by one person. In only 19 seconds he managed to get to 250 points. We have already contacted the winner and congratulated them on securing the grand prize of €10,000 in Bitcoin. The winner, from South Holland, said he's still unsure how he‘ll use the money: "The future will tell." Interestingly, he revealed he has only recently started exploring crypto, right after Trump won the US presidential elections. He couldn‘t recall how many times he played the game but was, of course, thrilled to win the prize.
