The Hunt is over!
The Hunt for valuable briefcases has come to an end. In the week of 25 February, Coinmerce, in collaboration with AFC Ajax, gave away €20,000 in Bitcoin. This amount was spread across five briefcases, four of which were hidden in Amsterdam, while one could be found online on our website.
Each briefcase was found within five minutes by a lucky winner who happened to be nearby. Many others followed but unfortunately arrived too late. Four lucky people went home with a briefcase, leaving just one more to be claimed.
"I started investing in stocks and crypto during the Roaring Kitty era and the Dogecoin hype. At home, I didn‘t learn much about finances—my mother was a single parent, had little financial knowledge herself, and was already busy enough taking care of me and my younger brother. Four Suitcases found quickly
From 25 to 28 February, a new video was posted daily on the Instagram channels of Coinmerce and Ajax, each containing a hint about the suitcase's location. These locations were Bloemengracht (Jordaan), Museumplein, Park Frankendael, and the Pumptrack near Bijlmer Arena. All these places are linked to Ajax‘s success: the Jordaan and Museumplein are key points along the route when the team sails through the canals to celebrate a championship victory. Additionally, Park Frankendael and Bijlmer Arena represent the club‘s previous and current stadium locations.Each briefcase was found within five minutes by a lucky winner who happened to be nearby. Virtual briefcase won by Lottery
On our website, participants could register for the virtual suitcase and answer a few questions. Thousands of responses were submitted. On Monday, 3 March, a winner was randomly selected from the many correct answers.
