Threshold (T)

Both privacy and usability play crucial roles in our modern digital lives. Many applications and services require personal data in exchange for convenience. Most people are willing to give up their personal data for this convenience, even when it may not be necessary. This is where Threshold comes in. The project aims to eliminate the need for users to sacrifice their personal data for usability. By leveraging threshold cryptography, Threshold secures user data, enabling more possibilities without relying on centralized authorities. Users no longer need to trust these central authorities. Threshold is the result of a merger between NuCypher and Keep Networks, delivering a range of cryptographic services for Web3 applications through the blockchain. These services include a proxy re-encryption service and tBTC v2. The latter is a bridge between Bitcoin and Ethereum, allowing users and developers to move assets between these two networks, enhancing interoperability between the blockchains.
